If you are experiencing audio drop out your Internet Service Provider may be blocking the Real Time Streaming Transport Protocol (RTSP).
You can use QuickTime's Preferences to select HTTP instead from Transport Setup under the Advanced Tab. Choose Custom from the pop-up menu to select the HTTP protocol.
